 The AMAZING Race

The Bible compares our lives to a race with a finish line and a prize or trophy at the end of the race.  Sometimes, it may feel like we're just racing.  Racing as a mother to potty-train our children before Kindergarten...racing to get the homework done...racing between cheerleading and basketball games.  Racing as a wife to have the house in order before hubby gets home...racing to squeeze romance into the day...racing to communicate with your husband with your children fighting in the background.  As mothers and wives, we have a prize that we are "racing" for in life, too.  In order to run in the "race of life", we must get ready for the race, we must receive training and coaching for the race, and we must learn how to endure the race to the finish line.  Come compete in Heart and Home's "The Amazing Race" and catch the prize!

"Are You Fit Enough to Race?"

As women, as wives and as mothers, we need to take care of our bodies physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally so we can be "fit enough" to race.  Join Heart and Home as we start off an AMAZING year with Dr. Diane Krall to learn practical tips on how to get fit and stay fit for the race of life.

About Heart and Home

Heart and Home is a non-denominational Christian outreach offering fellowship and encouragement for mothers who desire to strengthen their home and build it on the foundation of Christ.

What is Heart and Home?
Heart and Home...

• is a monthly meeting that offers support and encouragement for moms
• equips women in their God-given roles as mothers and wives
• nurtures friendships between fellow moms in a relaxing and accepting atmosphere
• is open to all area moms

When and Where is Heart and Home?
Heart and Home meets:

• one Friday a month
• from 9am - 11am
• during the school year (September - April)
• at New Castle Bible Church. Please call the church office for additional directions (309)447-6486.

Is Childcare provided?

• Heart and Home provides quality childcare in a safe, loving atmosphere for infants through 5 years of age. For moms who homeschool, we have a "homeschool" class for first grade and up. This class is taught on a rotation basis by the moms who homeschool.
• All of our childcare workers have been briefed in New Castle Bible Church's KidSafe policy.
• All classrooms are divided by ages. There are separate infant and toddler nurseries, and individual classes through age 5 (or pre-K).  For moms who homeschool, we have a class for 1st grade and up.  This class is taught on a rotation basis by the moms who homeschool.
• Prepared lessons are provided for 3 year olds - Kindergarten.

Is there a cost?

• We do ask for a $15.00/year registration donation to help cover speaker fees/honorariums and materials used for Heart and Home. 
• Childcare costs $2 per child (with a maximum out of pocket amount of $5). 
  
  (Additional money may be collected if the meeting includes a craft or a special guest speaker.)

Sick child policy
If your child has a fever of any sort, diarrhea, unexplained rash, pink eye, or runny nose other than clear, please do not bring him/her to Heart and Home. They most likely do not feel like being there and they do not need to infect the older childcare workers or an entire classroom. If your child is fever-free for 24 hours or has already been on an antibiotic for 24 hours, they are welcome to attend.

Motherhood is the most important job you will ever have, requiring time and sacrifice in giving proper priority to raising a family. Being a mom can sometimes be a thankless job, but the rewards can far outweigh the challenges and struggles. Heart and Home will help energize, equip, and encourage you to do the job God designed you to do, and be the woman God wants you to be!
